 Who are they?
The Melton Hunt Club was formed in 1955 to raise money for the improvement of the Leicestershire side of the Belvoir country. Colonel James Hanbury, then Master of the Belvoir, was Chairman and Lance Newton, who was the founder and driving force, became Honorary Secretary. Other original members were Dick Black, Jack Drake, Jimmy Elwell, Tim Molony, Claude Manchester and Dr Tom Connors. It was Lance Newton’s vision that the Club should help and encourage the young (and not so young), from other hunting countries throughout the land, to come and experience the thrill of hunting in Leicestershire. After developing the site we handed it over to a member of the Melton hunt Club to maintain and develop.

 r-a-i-n.com Who are they?
The Yorkshire and Humber Rural Advice and Information Network (RAIN) has been developed as part of the regions' Sustainable Farming and Food Plan 'Framework for Change' and has been part funded through the Countryside Agency.
The web site will play a key role in linking together individuals and organisations to make accessible a broad range of advisory services and support mechanisms. It will enable and promote the adoption of a 'no wrong door' attitude across a broad range of advisers in the region so when presented with a query or identifying an issue / opportunity for a farm or rural business they should be able to sign-post to 'the adviser who can'.
In 2007 project funding changed and the site is being merged with another project run bythe Framework for Change team.
